The last two Grafton race meetings have proven to be a happy hunting ground with Grafton trainers providing multiple winners on each day of racing.
The first meeting saw John Shelton start the day off well when Thrownunderthebus scored a solid win in the Maiden 1125m. Ridden by Kirk Matheson the filly sat outside the leader in the run before Matheson pushed the go button near the 200m with Thrownunderthebus racing away to win with some authority.
Grafton’s next winner came courtesy of the much travelled Andy Parramore prepared Intoxel.
Taken straight to the top by Jake Bayliss Intoxel led throughout to score a very easy victory in the Class 2 1430m.
Intoxel has always indicated she had plenty of ability but at the races has been her own worst enemy. Having just her first career start above 1320m the mare may now put more wins together now she seems to be in the right head space.
It was the third career win for Intoxel which is raced by her breeder who also experienced great success with the dam of Intoxel, Sandy Selection before retiring to the breeding barn where she has also proved successful having four foals for three winners and a placegetter.
The final Grafton winner for the day was prepared by Sam McGuren when Rocky Rogue secured his second career win in the Class 1 1125m.
Ridden by inform apprentice Courtney Bellamy Rocky Rogue travelled strongly in third place before sweeping to the lead below the 200m to win virtually untouched.
It was the first run back this preparation for Rocky Rogue and if the strength of that win is anything to go by he could be in for a solid preparation.
