Racing returned to Grafton on Monday with CRJC Premiership Winners Race Day.
Grafton trainers were well represented and managed to score victories in three of the seven races.
Daniel Want was the first in the winners enclosure when Sacred Thoughts was on her best behaviour to score a solid win in the Maiden 1106m.
Ridden by Kirk Matheson the mare showed plenty of speed to race outside the leader but looked in plenty of trouble below the 200m when tackled by the odds on favorite Uprise however under strong riding from Matheson Sacred Thoughts found enough to get the judges pat right on the line.
The Cathy Chapman yard was next to celebrate when Estroncio hit the line strongly to win the Maiden 1710m.
Ridden by Ben Looker Estroncio settled well back in the field but came with a well timed run to hit the top in the shadows of the post and win running away.
Estroncio is from the former good race mare Red Celtique which won seven races when trained by Paddy Cunningham.
Andy Parramore rounded the day off well when the Paul Richardson owned Bozeman led throughout to win the BM 58 1206m.
Aided by an inside draw Bozeman was not best served at barrier rise but quickly booted through to be in control of the race by the time the 1000m mark was reached.
With Ben Looker controlling terms he did not push the go button until near the 100m and Bozeman kicked strongly to race right away at the finish.
It was the third win by Bozeman from just twelve starts with his prize money now heading well over the $50K mark.
