With the last Grafton meeting set down for the year run and won on Sunday there were four Grafton stables celebrating a winning day.
Shane Everson was the first to the winners area when stable newcomer Hidden Hail led throughout to win the Open Hcp 1200m.
Ridden by Luke Rolls Hidden Hail which is owned locally by former bookmaker Brian Purcell was having his first run since leaving the care of Brisbane trainer Barry Lockwood who had won four metropolitan races with the gelding.
Rolls allowed the gelding to bowl along in front then dash away in the straight to win with plenty in reserve.
The next Grafton winner was again courtesy of Luke Rolls when he rode the Dwayne Schmidt prepared Miles Ahead. in the Maiden 1700m.
The former Victorian was having his third run for the stable and looked to have his opposition well and truly covered from the 800m mark when he was stalking the leading division.
Rolls worked into the clear in the early part of the straight and Miles Ahead proved he was exactly that when he dashed away to score a very easy seven length victory.
So impressive was the win Rolls even had time to admire his own handy work on the big screen as Miles Ahead was being eased down.
Schmidt reported after the race he believes the gelding will further improve as he gets out in trip.
Rolls continued on his winning way when he teamed up with Greg Kilner aboard Swanston in the BM 66 1400m.
Whilst Luke was never in any real danger of defeat on his first two winners he still had a job of work ahead of him when he turned for home on Swanston.
The gelding had settled well midfield before working into clear air on the point of the home turn however by the time the 200m mark was reached he was still one of five winning chances.
In the end any worry was short lived with Swanston working away to have over a length to spare when the judge called a halt.
The other Grafton winner for the day came when Sam McGuren was able to win her second race with Cutting Loose.
Cutting Loose was a winner at Lismore earlier in the year before losing his way a touch with three poor runs.
However the decision to spell and go again paid huge dividends on Sunday with the gelding scoring an impressive victory.
Ridden by Mikayla Weir Cutting Loose won the start and Weir controlled the tempo by holding the rail before taking the lead as head were turned for home.
Below the 200m Cutting Loose lived up to his name and established what turned out to be a winning break.
The win continued the winning run of the Sam McGuren yard in recent weeks.
Miles Ahead & Cutting Loose both living up to their names.
