Whilst she might not appreciate the title there is no doubt that Cathy Chapman is one of the veterans of the Grafton training ranks having been based in Grafton for well in excess of thirty years.
On Saturday Cathy found herself back in the winners circle when Star Emblem got the nod in a photo finish that tricked plenty in the final event of the day the BM 50 1205m.
Ridden by Kirk Matheson Star Emblem sat third before working to the middle of the track in the early part of the straight and found plenty in the run to the finish to hold off the competition which were finishing well.
The win by Star Emblem was his third this preparation after previous wins at Ballina and Grafton.
For Chapman it was her seventh winner this season from just forty four starters giving her a very healthy winning strike rate of nearly 16%.
