The Grafton meeting on Monday produced two Grafton trained winners.
The John Shelton prepared Lady Tulessa made it back to back victories when she scored a solid win in the BM 58 1015m.
Lady Tulessa raced just behind the lead before shifting into clear air about the 300m. Lady Tulessa still had plenty of work ahead of her at the 100m mark but in the end knuckled down strongly in the run to the finish to win with some authority.
It was the sixth win for Lady Tulessa since joining the Shelton yard just on two years ago.
The win provided Murwillumbah apprentice Claire Ramsbotham with a winning double for the afternoon. It was also her second win on the mare after having also ridden her to victory at the Grafton August 20 meeting.
Grafton’s second winner was from team Reilly when Frappes blew them off the park in the BM 66 1420m. Ridden by the inform Mollie Fitzgerald Frappes worked her way to the top by the 1200m mark and from that point on it was essentially race over as Frappes highballed in the lead and gave nothing else a chance.
In some respect it made up for the unlucky defeat suffered by Frappes at the Grafton August 20 Meeting when the mare raced greenly under pressure and threw the race away.
It was the second win for Frappes this preparation after having recorded a very easy victory on Ramornie Day when she was also partnered by Mollie Fitzgerald.
