Grafton may not have won the Country Championship Qualifier at Coffs Harbour but we achieved the next best thing with the John Shelton trained Tara Jasmine forcing her way into the final with a solid second.
Earlier in the day however Kevin King had produced Two Better to score an outstanding win in the Maiden 1200m.
Ridden by Jeff Kehoe the son of Easy Rocking had settled well back in the field and Kehoe elected to save plenty of ground in the run.
Once in the straight Kehoe weaved into the clear below the 300m to work all the way to the line to be in front for the first time in the race just as the judge called a halt.
It was only the fourth start in a race for Two Better which had put the writing on the wall with a solid fourth at the previous Grafton meeting.
