There is one thing that is guaranteed Grafton trainer David Campbell certainly loves heading up the mountain to try and win a race. It is also fair to say that when up the range David has his fair share of success.
In fact the last three winners prepared by the stable have all come on the Armidale circuit.
David’s most recent winner came at the last Armidale meeting when stable newcomer Eastowin led throughout to score an easy win in the Class 1 1900m.
Ridden by the in form apprentice Mollie Fitzgerald Eastowin went to the top and dictated terms until the home turn where she then established a winning break.
It was the third run for Eastowin since joining the Campbell yard in late September for a solid second at Grafton before an unplaced effort again at Grafton before the Armidale victory.
