Racing returns to Grafton next Monday so it is the right time to do a backwards glance at how the locals faired in the break.
The first meeting to review is Ballina Cup Day and what a result with the David Campbell trained MELTED MOMENTS scoring a very solid win in the Ballina Cup 1600m.
Ridden by Micheal Hellyer the gelding settled just off the pace and was always travelling like a winner before he shifted into the clear near the 600m to commence a winning run.
MELTED MOMENTS chased all the way down the straight to gain the upper hand about 100m from the post to race away and win with something in reserve.
The win by MELTED MOMENTS was his fourth since joining the Campbell yard in August and was win number four from his last six starts.
There is little doubt knowing the ownership group if everything goes to plan MELTED MOMENTS will have a crack at the Armidale Cup in March.
