On this site in the past we have outlined the work Jason Reilly does in an attempt to purchase horses capable of winning a race in the NRRA area and he was up to his old tricks again at Lismore on Monday.
Crypto Fiorelli had been to quite a few homes in his fourteen start career and before last Monday had failed to ever run a place.
He commenced his career with six runs in Victoria before a one start preparation on the mid north coast. This was followed by a trip to Dubbo and four more starts before he then became a Queenslander for three runs. Recently Jason saw him as value purchase on a online sale and the rest as they say is now history.
At Lismore on Monday the son of Fiorente was ridden by Allan Chau who took full advantage of his inside gate to give the gelding the run of the race on the fence just behind the leaders before getting between runners to stick his head down right on the line and get the judges nod.
As the picture below shows it was a tricky finish with my spies telling me even the winning trainer thinking he had suffered a narrow defeat.
Jason has had a great start to the season with Crypto Fiorelli providing him with his third winner from his last eight starters.
Pic Crypto Fiorelli in the centre just wins.
