Track features
A 400 metre straight, cambered home bend and one of the fastest draining surfaces on the north coast makes Grafton racecourse unique.
The Grafton Racecourse has a track circumference of 1940 metres and the width of the track is approx 25 metres. It has 5 chutes at the 2350 metres, 1700 metres, 1200 metres, 1100 metres and the 1000 metres mark.

Grafton is clearly one of the best choices an owner could make in relation to having their valuable Thoroughbred prepared for racing.
Grafton racecourse boasts outstanding training facilities including the course proper, a state of the art Pro-ride track, the number 2 turf track and a sand track for slow work.
For horses with soundness issues or simply needing a change of environment away from the hustle and bustle of the training track, Grafton trainers also take advantage of the Clarence River for those horses to swim.
Cuban Song Lodge provides safe and secure on course stabling for many local trainers however, there are also a number of trainers who prefer to prepare their teams from private training stables.
The Clarence River Jockey Club conduct 25 race meetings per year highlighted by the 5 days of the July Racing Carnival but the opportunity to place your horse in a suitable race does not end there.
Within 3 hours travelling time of Grafton there no fewer than 16 different race tracks conducting over 200 race meetings per year and distributing in excess of a massive $20 million in prize money.
This does not include the easy drive to compete in metropolitan Brisbane if you so desire.
